About a week ago, (6-24-16) to be exact, I presented ten painting by artists virtually everyone has heard of but who sometimes created works quite different than their normal style, medium, and content. In some cases the paintings below were by famous people who painted only as a hobby. The pieces I chose were some of their best work. Even if you didn't try guessing the artists, scroll down, you might be surprised at both the paintings or their artists. I've also explained somewhat the clues
1. Artist: Sir Winston Churchill, The Terrace at Lympne, one of 37 paintings donated to the British government in lieu of £9.4-million of inheritance taxes.
3. Adolph Hitler, rejected by the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, 1907 and 1908.
4. Antonio Benedetto (Tony Bennet), Skating Scene, 1950.
5. Andrew Wyeth, Self-portrait, son of N.C. Wyeth, father of Jamie Wyeth. 1949.
6. Anthony Quinn, Triumph, 1988
7. Former President George W. Bush (43), art show paintings.
8. Pablo Picasso (1896, age 15), Science and Charity (the death of his sister).
9. Michelangelo Buonarroti, Piazza Campidoglio, Capitoline Hill, Rome, 1536-38
The two paintings where I left the signatures intact were--
# 7, George W. Bush (43rd President of the United states).
# 4, Tony Bennett (lower left corner).

And the winner is:
Maria Leonor Correia de Matos,
who got a perfect score, correctly identifying all ten artists.
Congratulations, Maria
